Recipes even I’ve made!
For those of you who know me, you know I’m not a cook. My husband does the cooking at the Cayer residence. Recently, I have been making the effort to cook at least 1 meal per week. ONLY ONE! :) I will post these dinners as I make them.
There are 3 guidelines when I choose a recipe:
1. Healthy
2. Tasty
3. Easy
I’m sure you all would agree that most of us look for those 3 things when choosing a meal.
Expect a recipe a week. Of course, feel free to leave comments on recipes that I will be posting. If you’ve tried them, any variations, or even suggestions.
Happy cooking!

My puppy - Winchester!
Attached is a photo of me and my puppy named Winchester (my husband is a hunter). He is a Puggle (father - purebred pug, mother was a purebred beagle). We chose a puggle because after reading about the characteristics of Pugs and Beagles - they both seemed to match our lifestyle and matched perfectly to the type of dog we were looking for.
Little did I know - Puggles were becoming popular - read this article in Macleans’s magazine
“How Much is that Puggle in the Window?!”

Snuggle my Puggle! :)
Yesterday, we took Winchester in to get neutered - I like this word better than ‘castration’ the vet used. He was at the vets all day and we were finally able to pick him up at 6pm. He seems to be doing well however for those of you who are planning to get their puppy neutered keep in mind of these small things that could happen (by experience)
- puppy will have to wear a cone for 7 - 10 days! — something they do not like!
- puppy may be a bit drugged from the anesthesia
- they are in some pain - but because of the anesthesia you can give them pain medication until the following day
- your puppy might be up all hours of the night (ours was up every hour wandering because of pain)
After all the above, some would wonder why would we put our puppy in pain. I’ve read many books and every single one of them said: neuter your puppy. Leave the breeding up to the breeders. There are too many backyard breeders who don’t quite understand the health issues of breeds. Read some benefits of neutering your puppy!
I did this because of the benefits of the puppy! This is day 2 of the operation - I’ll let you know how I feel around day 7 - 10!
